3 Products That Saved My Hair and Will Save Yours Too

I have always had super thin hair. Growing up my sisters would tell me I looked homeless because no matter how long I spent brushing my hair, I always woke up with tangles on top of tangles. This year, after going back and forth on the decision, I decided to dye my hair for the first time. I was apprehensive given that my hair was already thin and prone to breakage. In response to these worries, I researched hair products that would make my hair healthy. After dying it, my hair was definitely more stringy when I brushed it. Although it was annoying, it was nothing catastrophic. Immediately I picked up these 3 hair products in hope for some change. 6 months later my hair is healthier than ever before.

1. Microfiber Hair Towel

DO NOT do the classic hair twist up in a white towel on top of your head unless you want major breakage. Your hair is most fragile when it is wet and it needs to be treated as such. What I have started doing is using my turban twist BUT without twisting it. I will put it on my head like a weird head cape until I am ready to focus on my hair and then I press the towel to my head. I do not twist or wrap my hair in it because it causes my hair to be stretchy and stringy.

2. Slip Silk Pillowcase

I am a slut for all things silk, especially this silk pillowcase. I did not notice how much softer and healthier my hair started to be in the morning until I went a day without sleeping on my silk pillowcase. It is also great for your skin and reduces any pulling on your hair or skin during the night.

3. Olaplex No. 3 (and 4,5,6)

I started using the Olaplex No. 3 bond strengthener a few months ago and have definitely seen my hair come back to life. I only recently started using the shampoo, conditioner, and cream but they definitely have made a difference. My hair feels smoother, stronger, and when I use these I have little to no flyaways. If you are testing these products out for the first time I would recommend getting this sample starter set since they are a little pricey.
